A routine traffic stop quickly escalated out of control when a San Antonio man allegedly attacked a police officer Saturday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 300 block of San Pedro.

Police say the female officer was going through a routine traffic stop when she noticed the suspect had an outstanding warrant.

As she went to arrest him, he reportedly attacked her. The suspect was taken down by several officers, and then arrested.

The female officer suffered minor cuts and bruises to her face.
