S.A. man accused of slicing father-in-law with machete

SAN ANTONIO -- A 28-year-old man is accused of attacking is father-in-law with a machete during a violent family fued, police say.

According to a San Antonio police affidavit, Norlan Pacheco was arguing with his wife on July 4 after their home in the 1100 block of Stonewall was burglarized earlier in the day.

The argument got physical once POacheco accused his wife's family of stealing from the home. That's when the visiting father-in-law stepped in to break up the fight.

After a brief scuffle, Pacheco left the home and returned with a machete and started busting out windows with it before trying to chop down the front door, police said.

Police said the suspect's father-in-law had one of his fingers sliced open while he was holding the front door shut.

Pacheco was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggrvated assault with a deadly weapon. He was taken to Bexar County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
