SAN ANTONIO — A slab of dirt more than 100 feet long is falling out from under I-10 in downtown San Antonio.
For about two weeks, the slab of dirt has had residents on Lubbock Street wondering if it will slide down and cause unimaginable damage to their properties.
One man who works along Lubbock Street said if there were to be a landslide, his place of work would certainly shut down for long time.
“I got a wife and four kids with one more on the way," Richard Garcia said.
His shop is feet away from the eroding chunk of Earth that measures roughly 100 feet long, 50 feet wide and is five feet deep in some places. It's also inches away from the paved surface of the interstate, where thousands of cars travel every day.
As dangerous as it appears, TxDOT said it is really no cause of concern but adds it will find funding to make the necessary repairs.
