Richard Ashbacher worked at a San Antonio restaurant and was a former Air Force Academy football player. His mother reported him missing on May 14, 2007. Ashbacher was last seen leaving a friend's apartment in the 6100 block of Whitby.
Investigators found some pants, a belt and two ID cards at the scene. San Antonio police are now trying to determine exactly how the 25-year-old died.
Shortly after he went missing his family offered at $5000 cash reward for information on the case. Authorities recovered some evidence on Friday the 13th and returned to the scene Monday when more evidence was discovered again by kids playing in the area.
