A Houston woman says she narrowly escaped death after she was attacked by two masked men who tried to rob her and shot at her several times.
Dollie O-Day says she pulled into her carport on Sunday and was making her way to the back door of her townhome when thieves immediately began attacking her.
She said they demanded she hand over her purse.
When she refused to give it up one of the suspects allegedly started to shoot. One of the bullets could have hit her directly in the chest, but the 61-year-old grandmother says her purse acted as a shield.
"But there's a bullet hole right there. And I think hanging onto the purse saved my life because I had it over my chest," O'Day said.
Police report that the suspects got away with O'Day's iPhone, though. They are hoping a GPS tracker on the phone will lead them to the suspects.
