HOUSTON — Police say a woman left her two-year-old child in a shopping cart while fleeing from a security guard who caught her shoplifting at Target.
Priscanoi Kisivuli, 21, has been charged with abandoning a child with intent to return. She is not in police custody.
On August 2, Kisivuli and another woman were captured on surveillance tape stealing items from a Target store at 13250 Northwest Freeway, according to court documents.
When they were approached by a security guard, Kisivuli allegedly fled the store holding another small child but leaving behind the two-year-old in the shopping cart.
The other suspect was detained and questioned by police.
The child was turned over to her grandmother.
