HOUSTON – Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Radio Shack in Pasadena, police said.
Two of the suspects were arrested after a chase, and the two others were arrested later.
The robbery happened at about 4 p.m. in the 100 block of South Wayside, police said.
Police said the men fled in a 2002 Dodge Caravan that was reportedly stolen and had a LoJack system onboard.
Police credit an off-duty Houston police officer for helping to lead them to the suspects. The off-duty cop had been hired by Radio Shack to provide security. Officials said he was sitting outside in his personal car and observed the armed suspects leaving the store.
“As he saw them leaving he put out a description of the vehicle,” said Pasadena Police Lt. James Holt. “One of our officers in the 2600 block of Shaver spotted the vehicle.”
Police were expected to question the suspects for several hours.
Some customers said they hoped the men received justice.
“They should go to prison,” said Cliff Duvall. “If you do the crime, you should do the time. Ultimately it’s about taking care of our kids.”
Investigators said they believe the suspects may be responsible for other robberies.
