SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police say a northwest-side massage parlor was offering more than a relaxing massage to its clients.
Now a women there is facing prostitution charges. Police got a tip from Irene Rodriguez, who owns Sergio's Salon and Wig Boutique next door. The massage parlor, she said, seemed odd from the start.
"My customers were asking me what's going on there," Rodriguez said. "They had a lot of businesses, and I've never heard of any massage parlor called Kim's."
The sign is no longer there. Lot 112 on the 10900 block of Wurzbach was busted. A woman named Thanh Nguten was charged with prostitution.
"That's what they say: $60 for 30 minute and $100 for an hour," said Rodriguez about rumors she heard.
On Tuesday, an SAPD undercover officer walked in posing as a client.
"He was taken to a back room for a fee of $60. Once he got into the back room, he was propositioned by the suspect," said Matt Porter of the SAPD.
Nguten asked if he wanted her to perform any sexual acts.
"She actually left the room to get protection," Porter said.
Nguten was arrested on the spot. Rodriguez said that's a huge relief for her and her thriving business.
"We figured something was going on there that was not right," she said.
KENS 5 called the property manager to get some answers, but she has not returned our calls.
