SAN ANTONIO — A man is recovering at a local hospital after being shot twice at a home in the 300 block of Belmont on Monday night.
San Antonio police said the victim was shot once through the face and once in the leg as he fled from the home in his truck.
The victim drove approximately six blocks before parking at a Chevron gas station near I-35 and N. New Braunfels.
He was treated at the scene and eventually taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses said the victim and the shooter had been drinking together "all day" at the home when they started arguing around 7 p.m.
The victim told police the shooter tried to steal his truck, then fired a gun four or five times at him as he drove away.
"This isn't an innocent person walking by who got shot," said SAPD Sgt. Brian Custard. "These were two men drinking and partying together. People who knew each other and had involvement with each other."
Police said they know the shooter and will continue to look for him.
