SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The UTSA men's basketball game at San Jose State on Thursday night was canceled because of a leaky roof at the Event Center.

The Western Athletic Conference game will not be rescheduled.

Heavy rains began falling in the San Jose area about one hour before the scheduled tipoff of 9 p.m. (CST), and water began to leak on the court with about 25 minutes left on the countdown clock, according to the UTSA sports information office.

Offcials stopped the clock at 15:00 to see if crews could keep the water from falling on the floor, but the leaks spread to at least four different spots and officials made the decision to cancel the game because of unsafe playing conditions.

UTSA, 8-20 overall and 3-13 in the WAC, ends its regular season at Utah State on Saturday. Tipoff is is at 8 p.m. and the game will be televised on KCWX.

The Roadrunners will fly to Las Vegas after the regular-season finale to play in the WAC tournament next week.

UTSA will play a first-round game at either 8 or 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Orleans Arena.
