SAN ANTONIO -- Judson ISD police were continuing their investigation Friday after members of a middle-school volleyball team reported that they were threatened by a woman with a gun after a game Thursday night.
However, that allegation was later disputed by a woman who acknowledged interacting with the players after the game.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Metzger Middle School on Binz-Engleman Road.
The Kirby team had just won a game against Metzger. The woman approached the team as they were making their way toward the team bus.
Witnesses said the woman pulled a gun and threatened to shoot members of the Kirby Middle School seventh-grade volleyball team.
A Judson ISD spokesperson said midday Friday that police interviewed a woman in connection with the incident. The woman said she had only waved her finger at the players.
She was reportedly upset over Metzger losing the game and was responding to the girls' celebration of Kirby's win.
Judson ISD police searched the woman's home and vehicle and did not find a gun, the spokesperson said.
That's when authorities decided to re-interview the students and found some inconsistencies.
Investigators reviewing the surveillance video could not positively determine whether or not an actual gun was involved in the altercation.
The woman was not arrested, but JISD officials say she has been issued a criminal trespass warrant which will prohibit her from stepping on Judson ISD property for the next year.
