SAN ANTONIO -- Bexar County deputies say they don't suspect foul play or suicide in the death of a 30-year-old inmate at the Bexar County Jail early Wednesday morning.

Authorities identified the deceased as Thomas Reed Taylor, 30, of New Braunfels.

Det. Louis Antu said Taylor was separated from the general population inside the holding cell after several other inmates complained about his disruptive behavior.

Taylor was moved to the separate cell at around 1:50 a.m. Antu said he was found face down and unresponsive when jailers checked on him about 10 minutes later.

Taylor had turned himself in on Tuesday at around 8 p.m. on at least three active warrants. Charges include driving while intoxicated and drug possession.

Antu said jailers are required to check on isolated inmates every 30 minutes. Administrators said Taylor went through the routine medical screening just fine.

This is the fourth custodial death for Bexar County. Two of those were suicides and one was due to natural causes.  The Medical Examiners Office is conducting an autopsy. The results are pending.
