The memory of 18-year-old Theresa Allen is living on in the hearts of her family and friends.

It's been three days since the Premier High School student was hit and killed while walking on the city's west side.

However, those who knew and loved Allen say her memory will live on in their hearts. Friends say Allen was excited about college, and was getting ready to graduate in the top of her class.

Police say Monday evening, Allen was walking on Joe Newton Street when a 20-year-old driver swerved to avoid hitting a stray dog and lost control of the vehicle. 18-year-old Allen was struck and killed.

Her family recently moved to Waco, but she chose to stay in San Antonio so she could graduate with her friends. Funeral arrangements are pending.
