DALLAS — A four-alarm fire engulfed the DFW Gun Range at 1607 West Mockingbird Lane in Dallas Sunday afternoon.

Heavy black smoke was visible from downtown Dallas.

There were no initial reports of injuries.

Police were keeping onlookers at least a block away due to the threat of exploding ammunition.

The company's Web site listed a number of classes on Sunday, including an "Introduction to Handguns" scheduled at 3:15 p.m.

Motorists should avoid Mockingbird Lane between Interstate 35E and Harry Hines Boulevard due to fire apparatus blocking the streets.

The fire is less than a mile-and-a-half south of Love Field Airport, but there was no report of flight delays due to the heavy smoke in the area.
