Many survivors made Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)  trailers their temporary homes.

Now, more than 300 of those trailers, some never lived-in, are going up for sale in Texas.

Just a short drive north to Bastrop, sits Campers Direct, where buyers can find rows and rows of former FEMA trailers ready to sell.

According to Steve Stadheim, more than 60 percent of the trailers are brand new, making this a great deal if you are in the market for a trailer.

"You know I'm a taxpayer. Everybody is a taxpayer, and this is a chance for a taxpayer to get some of their money back on a discounted travel trailer," says Stadheim.

There is evidence still left in the windows of those put to good use after Hurricane Katrina.
