Police say fireworks appear to be the cause of an apartment fire Tuesday night at the Landmark Apartments in the Medical Center.
Officers say they had been called out to the complex a few times over the last few days because of fireworks. On Tuesday night, they were called out again, but they didn't find anything.
A little while later, neighbors reported hearing a bottle rocket being set off. But they never heard it explode.
Shortly after, one of the buildings in the complex was up in flames. Twelve apartments were in the building, and 11 families lived inside.
The building next to the apatments was evacuated as well as a precautionary measure.
The Red Cross was there to assist the displaced families. Arson investigators were looking into the fire.
