Wednesday, the network reported that Abraham Lincoln and George Washington have been removed from textbooks, and that Veterans Day and Christmas have also been deleted from lesson plans.

None of this is true.

The board will take a preliminary vote on what stays and what goes on Friday.

A final vote won't happen until May.

The State Board of Education is meeting in Austin this week.  Its decisions on curriculum are attracting national attention.

So much so, that the board has put out a press release, clearing up the confusion being generated by the Fox News network.
