SAN ANTONIO -- A 26-year-old man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in a deadly accident that ended with being hit by a train.

Rosalio Padilla was rushed to University Hospital on Monday morning after crews were able to cut him free of his mangled car on the train tracks near Cupples and Quintana Road, San Antonio police say.

Two of his passengers died after the vehicle bounced off a median, ramped the barrier and landed on the railroad tracks below. The car was then hit by a northbound train.

Authorities identified one of the victims as April Gonzales. She was 26.

The other victim, a man in his 20s, had not yet been identified.
