SAN ANTONIO -- Three people, including a dancer and a customer, were wounded overnight in a shootout inside a strip club on the city's north side, police say.
One of the men who opened fire at Sugar's, 2731 NW Loop 410, was still at large on Thursday morning, but San Antonio police said they know the suspect and are tracking him down.
SAPD Sgt. Javier Salazar said least two of the victims struck by bullets were not the intended targets -- a patron suffered a gunshot wound to the arm; a dancer at the club was shot in the buttocks; and one of the shooters was also shot in the rear.
Both of the gunmen, including the one who was shot, fled the club.
"A short while later, officers were also dispatched to Methodist Hospital where it was reported another person appeared at the hospital there suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks," he said. "It was discovered that he was also one of the two patrons who was involved in the earlier altercation."
The name of the shooter and the other gunman still on the loose have not yet been released.
Officers said they have to determine which of the shooters is criminally responsible. That person will face multiple charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
An eyewitness told KENS 5 he saw the shootout unfold.
"I was standing there with a beer, and he ... busted out. And just blowin'," the witness said.
Police said another dancer suffered an anxiety attack in the parking lot.
