You've seen a birds eye view of the incredible damage. But for the first time you can see up close the foundation problems homeowners are dealing with because of the failed retaining wall at the Hills of Rivermist.
At first, security didn't let us on the property, even though we were invited by Sherwin Tolentino, an evacuated homeowner. But once in the backyard of the home at 8243 Rockwell Vista, KENS 5 cameras captured an unstable fence with gaps in the ground and growing foundation problems.
Tolentino is living out of a hotel room for now and he says the only peace of mind he's had is a letter from the city confirming that his occupancy has been suspended.
"I just want to move on and get it over with," said Tolentino. "Buy my home back," he added.
Pulte says they re continuing to work with the city to determine the best strategy for each individual homeowner and they will be talking to Tolentino about his concerns.
San Antonio Police confirm that KENS 5 did not break any laws by going on the property.
