SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio has a new initiative to become one of the nation's top food destinations.
Saturday morning, the Culinary Institute of America opened up shop at the Pearl Brewery.
A bakery will be added around Christmas time and in 2011, the brewery will feature a restaurant staffed by chefs in training.
"...[R]eally does mark a turning point in Latin American cuisines," said David Kellaway, managing director of CIA San Antonio. "It also acts as a center to bring great culinary minds together."
The grand opening included campus tours, live entertainment, competitions, culinary demos and tastings.
