Within the first 60 minutes of the 2010 Census Bureau job fair, 500 people had already come through. The massive crowd didn't seem to surprise too many people in this down economy.
Many said they were just looking for any work they could find.
The 2010 Census Bureau is looking for up to 6,000 employees from in and around San Antonio to fill positions ranging from clerk to supervisor. The pay scale is from $10.50 to $17 an hour. The jobs will last anywhere from one to three months.
All applicants must take a test. Testing began on Tuesday and will continue through Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Alamodome.
Anyone who cannot make it to the Alamodome can call 866-861-2010.
