SAN ANTONIO -- Police were looking for a killer when a child sex trafficking case fell into their laps.

San Antonio police said a 16-year-old run away alleges 20-year-old Kwaku Agyin was her pimp and the person who killed a man on Oct. 3.

According to an arrest warrant, the victim ran away from the Hector Garza Center during a swim outing in early September. The teen reportedly met Agyin on a VIA bus, where they exchanged phone numbers. The two agreed to meet several days later.

Police said Agyin got a room at the Motel 6 in the 5500 block of Pan Am Expressway. That's where the girl told police he started to touch her, so she ran into the bathroom and locked the door. The girl told police Agyin grew angry, and she had sex with him out of fear.

According to the warrant, the girl told Agyin she had to sell her body to survive, and that's when Agyin convinced her to become his prostitute. Police said the victim worked the streets on Rittiman Road to earn money for her new boss.

According to investigators, Agyin set the girl up with 60 to 70 men between Sept. 17 and 19. Agyin allegedly kept all of the profits except what the victim would hide.

Police said they have receipts for three rooms at the Motel 6 in Agyin's name.

The girl's story came out as police were investigating a capital murder case. Police said she also confirmed Agyin as the killer.

Agyin was charged with sexual assault of a child, compelling prostitution of a minor, trafficking a person under 18 and harboring a runaway. He remains in the Bexar County Detention Center on bonds that total more than $200,000.

He has not been charged with capital murder.
