SAN ANTONIO -- Police say a man who accidentally shot his girlfriend in the chest will be held criminally responsible.
The man, whose named has not been released, is expected to face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, San Antonio police said.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of Amanda Street around 2 a.m. Monday. They said a woman had been shot in the chest and was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.
Investigators said the victim was trying to stop her current boyfriend from shooting his ex-girlfriend.
