SAN ANTONIO -- A 38-year-old woman was hit and killed early Tuesday morning while using the crosswalk at a busy intersection on the city's west side, police say.
The deceased was identified as Heidi Lowry.
According to a San Antonio police report, Lowry was using the crosswalk at Potranco and Culebra without the proper signal. Officers also noted that she was wearing dark clothing.
The intersection was closed for hours following the accident that occurred just before 6 a.m.
San Antonio police said she was hit by two vehicles -- a Chevrolet Suburban and a pickup truck. Both drivers stopped after hitting the woman and neither drivers are expected to be charged.
The woman's body was found underneath the Suburban when firefighters and police first arrived at the scene.
