Earlier version:

SAN ANTONIO -- A body was found in the 3800 block of Deerfield on Sunday morning, San Antonio police said.

Police said they believe the man was hit during an accident that happened overnight along the access road of Loop 410, they said.

Police said evidence suggests the man was hit by a car whose driver was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of driving while intoxicated along the access road near Deerfield.

Investigators were on the scene for several hours. The medical examiner was called to the scene to investigate.

Investigators have not released the name of the victim.

Police said the impact from the hit would have been so severe the man hit would have been thrown over the fence into the backyard of a home.

Police also said they did not know to look for a body after the accident Saturday night.
