Local law enforcement officers are afraid to leave their personal vehicles parked at a new substation in southeast Bexar County. They say it is only a matter of time before vandals will strike.
Deputies say they have to fight off suspected gang members from their own substation. They're speaking out about their struggle on Facebook.
Investigators are making statements like, "15 gang members are found inside the wire of the trailers at four o'clock this morning...caught by power shift turning in."
Other comments read, "They found 10 juveniles by the abandoned building" and "watch your six cuz these clowns are watching us."
The substation, nicknamed the "mud sub" due to its dirty parking conditions during heavy rains, is located at the end of a farm road.
A nearby abandoned hospital isn't helping things. The building is rumored to be haunted, which is leading to Facebook comments stating,"as halloween approaches, it will get worse." Bexar County officials say the substation is still a work in progress and that, in addition to a wire fence, the parking lot will also be paved in the near future. But right now, deputies are asking for more security measures to be taken.
