CONROE, TX - Amanda Harris is not your everyday power-lifter. At 21 years old, she’s earned the title of world champion 17 times with a perfect record of 95-0. Not bad for someone who has lived with scoliosis since she was 8.
Amanda was born with cleft feet, but it was the acute scoliosis diagnosis that threatened her chance at a normal life. Her dad refused to but Amanda in yet another brace. Instead, he put her on a strength training program to strength the muscles around her back that seems to have worked really well.
Her house is full of trophies and pictures and she’s earned the nickname Barbie Barbell perks of what has become more than just a sport.
