A Balcones Heights police officer who was responding to a call ended up needing a little help himself after he was T-boned by a truck.
The officer was on his way to backup another unit when he was hit going through the intersection at Fredericksburg Road and NW Loop 410 at around 11 p.m. Saturday.
The driver of the Chevy truck reportedly didn't see the officer coming even though the patrol car lights were flashing and the siren was on.
Both drivers were taken to Methodist Hospital with minor head injuries.
The truck driver was taken downtown to be evaluated for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The female passenger in the truck and the driver of the third vehicle involved in the accident were uninjured.
