UPDATE: The Amber Alert was called off around 10:20 Thursday night after the three children were found in northeast Bexar County. Four adults, including the grandmother who took the kids from school, were detained by Bexar County sheriff's deputies.

SOMERSET, Texas -- An Amber Alert has been issued for three children who were taken from Somerset Elementary School on Thursday, according to school officials.

Somerset ISD spokesman Maury Vasquez said the three children had been removed from their home and placed in custody of Child Protective Services.

One of the children became sick at school on Thursday and the school nurse accidentally called the kids' grandmother to pick them up.

Vasquez said the emergency contact list had not been updated since the kids -- ages 7,8 and 9 -- have been placed in custody of the state.

The Somerset Police Department and Bexar County Sheriff's Office were searching for the kids and the grandmother on Thursday night.
