FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- A funeral service will be held Thursday for an Army lieutenant colonel from Texas who was shot and killed in Fort Bragg.

Roy Tisdale graduated from Texas A&M in 1993 and was a battalion commander at Fort Bragg. The 42-year-old served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

He died when another soldier shot him and another man during a safety briefing last week. Investigators say the gunman then turned the gun on himself.

Tisdale will be buried in the Aggie Field of Honor, an area of a College Station Cemetery for Aggies and their supporters.
