TRAVIS COUNTY -- Emergency crews are working a 6,400 acre fire four miles southeast of Spicewood that has damaged 64 structures.

Crews are monitoring the situation in the Pedernales Bend area off of Highway 71.

Pedernales Electric reported 545 homes were without power as of Monday afternoon.

More than 100 firefighters from 14 agencies were fighting the 10-square mile fire that as of 1 p.m. was 80 percent contained. Firefighters are continuing to fight hot spots and flare ups.

There is no cause known yet.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is keeping Highway 71 closed from Pacebend to the county line because of low visability.

Two shelters are open in that area -- Bee Creek United Methodist Church and Briarcliff Community Center.
