The Texas A&M Aggies were not going to be denied on Sunday, which is all the more impressive considering they were playing a virtual road game in Charlotte for their second-round matchup against North Carolina.

The Aggies prevailed 86-65 over the Tar Heels to reach the Sweet 16 for the second straight year under head coach Billy Kennedy. But this time, it took an upset.

While the versatile Aggie bigs locked down the paint on both sides of the ball, it was the three-point shooting that put them over the top. A&M went 10-24 from deep in the game and that was largely what sparked their run in the first half that gave them a 42-28 advantage at the half.

Center Tyler Davis led the Aggies with 21 points while three others scored in double figures.

It was Robert Williams who, once again, had the highlight of the game, with a breakaway windmill dunk that followed a Davis block on the defensive end.

The Aggies will try to qualify for the regional final for the first time in school history.

Texas A&M will face Michigan in the Sweet 16 at the West Regional Semifinal at the Staples Center on Thursday.
