4-year-old Converse boy dies after being bitten by family dog

Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating after a large family dog bit 4-year-old Noah Trevino in the neck. He died later Sunday afternoon. Bexar County Animal Control responded and took the dog, which will be put down.

CONVERSE, Texas -- A 4-year-old Converse boy died Sunday afternoon after being attacked by his family's dog, said BCSO deputies.

Noah Trevino was reportedly in the back yard of his family's home with the large breed mix dog when a family member went to check on him. That family member saw the dog biting the neck area of the child, who was laying on the ground.

The family member, who has not been identified, freed the child from the dog and took the child inside. The boy was unresponsive and the family performed CPR until the first BCSO deputy arrived.

The boy was airlifted to University Hospital in serious, life-threatening condition. He was later pronounced dead. The Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be complications of dog mauling.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office are still investigating the incident. Bexar County Animal Control responded and took the dog. It was later announced that the dog will be put down.
