Despite the fog and drizzle on Tuesday morning, PPG volunteers were eager and ready to give back to the children at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Texas.

They came in by the busloads, with 800 volunteers at the Bulverde campus and 300 at the New Braunfels location. They painted the 9 exterior buildings and 3 sheds on the 10-acre campus in Bulverde. At New Braunfels, they painted the exterior of 2 sheds, maintenance shop, fence, and playground structure and for the interior, they painted the Kid Care Center, Admin offices, and 11 bedroom/9 bath house where our young moms and their children live.

SJRC TX houses foster children and teen moms in the surrounding areas and was selected by PPG, a global coatings company, as part of its Colorful Communities program. Each of their facilities received some maintenance and upkeep in the form of power washing, painting, fixing decks and the interiors of the homes on the properties.

“To have a company like PPG come onto both of our campuses to lend a helping hand is such an incredible blessing,” SJRC TX President and CEO Tara Roussett said. “Our focus is always on taking care of our children and teen moms, so every bit of help from the community is greatly appreciated.”
