The snow on trees and cars was just a small part of the winter bliss kids woke up to on Friday.
"My sisters, I thought they were lying about snow being outside but when I saw, I started screaming." Genevieve Gaytan said.
Inches of snow fell all over the city and drew plenty of excitement from kids seeing it for the first time.
With the rare snow event, it wasn't a tough call for parents to let their children have a snow day from school to take in the snowfall.
"She got three of her bucket list items done: the snowman, the snowball fight, and the snow angel." Edilia Gaytan said.
Although most San Antonio school districts were open on Friday, kids still found a way to make their recess a frosty one to remember.
