Food trucks compete for best taco in town at Twisted Taco Truck Throwdown

Tacos were the star of the show at this competition of fast food on wheels.

SAN ANTONIO - It's a taco contest for a good cause. The 7th Annual Twisted Taco Truck Throwdown brought out thousands to enjoy some of the best grub in San Antonio.

More than 25 food trucks came ready to rumble and compete to be named the best taco in town. The contest consisted of three categories including Grand Champion, Best Freestyle Taco, and People's Choice.

The tasty throw down was all to raise money for VFW Post 76, which provides veterans in need with assistance and offers youth scholarships. It's just one of many events that highlight the growing mobile movement in San Antonio.

The food truck scene has grown so steadily that there's a San Antonio Food Truck Association with nearly 50 member trucks.

"It's going to be difficult for the judges to be able to pick one favorite taco," said Albert Mireles, with VFW Post 76. "They're all good."
