Tamer F. Morsi, an attorney for the graduating senior released this statement:
"It is our contention that our minor client did not knowingly engage in any alleged criminal activity. We believe that this may be a case of the authorities arresting first and investigating later. We believe that when the facts come out, our client will be fully vindicated and the parties truly responsible for the alleged criminal misconduct will be held accountable. We ask all parties to reserve judgment until then."
