The military psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people is at Brooke Army Medical Center.
A spokesperson says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was brought to San Antonio under tight security via helicopter at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.
BAMC is a level 1 trauma center. It is the highest level Army hospital in the region, and it is considered the #2 Army hospital in the country.
So, it's no surprise a high-profile suspect would be transferred there.
Hasan is accused of opening fire at the Soldier Readiness Center at Fort Hood, Texas on Thursday in a shooting rampage that left 13 dead. The 39-year-old was shot four times by civilian police officer , Sgt. Kimberly Munley.
For several hours Thursday it was thought that Hasan was dead.
But, Hasan is in stable condition in the intensive care unit at BAMC. He is surrounded by plenty of health care workers and police.

I think having Dr. Maj. Hasan at BAMC doesn't pose any significant risk because of the security surrounding him. BAMC is one of the most secure facilities in the area with security heightened. I rather have him here at BAMC under close guard than at a facility that isn't equipped for a high profile suspect. I can only say suspect because he hasn't been charged or convicted of the crime yet. Unfortunately, My feelings overrule logical thought in this case and in no doubt I feel he is guilty. Additionally, I feel he has committed an act of treason against the United States based on what I know from multiple sources. The reason I think treason is because according to the United States Constitution, Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. and to me he has hit both of those especially the skeptical actions of Hasan can sort of, but not definitively point him to being a terrorist.
