SAN ANTONIO -- Police have arrested a 22-year-old man accused of dousing his live-in girlfriend with lighter fluid and threatening to light her ablaze.
Benjamin Bonilla allegedly sprayed his 21-year-old girlfriend with lighter fluid and threatened her by sparking a lighter at their Regal Park apartments on Tuesday, according to a San Antonio police report.
The woman told police Bonilla had been upset the past couple of days and became angry with her on Tuesday because she was crying loudly and upsetting their child. She also told police Bonilla had sprayed the walls with lighter fluid and threatened to burn down the apartment.
Police said the woman had locked herself in the bathroom and called 911.
Bonilla tried to clean the lighter fluid off the walls with bleach and then left the apartment before officer arrived, police said.
He was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
