SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Police Department on Friday celebrated the promotions of 12 members of the force at the Lila Cockrell Theater, 200 East Market St.
At the ceremony, Chief William McManus recognized the hard work and dedication of eight new detectives, three new sergeants and a new lieutenant.
Spokesman Lt. Chris Benavides was among those promoted.
"We promoted 12 individuals from our police department. The special twist for me is I was one of the promotees," Benavides said. "I got promoted from sergeant to lieutenant."
