A club called Joe's Volcano erupted with gunfire Monday morning. What followed was an angry mob. Police tried to get the crowd under control after shots went off. Witnesses say they heard a few gunshots and then fell to the ground.
Police responded to the 6800 block of Ingram Road just at around 2 a.m. after receiving 911 calls about a disturbance and gunfire.
Police say at least two rounds went off outside of Joe's Volcano as people were leaving the club. When officers arrived they found a man who had been shot in the parking lot. According to detectives the victim, in his 20's, was attacked as he was opening his car door.
Officers say the victim was shot once underneath the left arm. The victim told police he has no idea why he was attacked and says it was a random shooting. Witnesses saw a white Suburban flee the scene and believe the shots came from that vehicle.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in critical but stable condition. The gunman is still on the loose on the west side and police continue to investigate.
If you have any information on this shooting you are urged the San Antonio police department.
