SAN ANTONIO -- A night at a south-side bar had a dramatic and violent ending when five people were hit by a car in the bar's parking lot.

San Antonio police said it was no accident. They said the hit-and-run stemmed from an argument between two women around 2:30 a.m. outside Strokers, in the 700 block of Roosevelt.

"I've never seen anything like that," said Michael Lopez, a bar employee.

Lopez says he saw the suspect's black Chevrolet four-door vehicle pull out of the bar's parking lot. He said the vehicle went backwards and then sped forward into five people standing outside of the bar.

Lopez, police and other witnesses said the suspect was gunning for the woman she was arguing with, but also hit four other bystanders.

"Luckily, it didn't kill me, because I was underneath the car for a little bit," said bar owner Raymond Samaniego.

The 57-year-old and his wife had gone outside to see who was arguing when they were both hit by the car. Sameniego was limping heavily after the crash. His wife and three others were taken to various hospital across San Antonio.

Police said none of the victims are believed to have life-threatening injuries. The woman who is believed to have been the target was said to be in the most serious condition.

Lopez said the car slammed the woman into the bar with such force that it left an imprint on the outside of the bar. He pointed to the damage.

According to police, the suspect faces five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Two passengers who were in the vehicle with her are not expected to be held criminally responsible, investigators said.
