COLLEGE STATION -- Guadalupe County Judge Mike Wiggins was arrested Monday night on drug charges while attending a judge conference in College Station, according to arrest records.
Wiggins was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than two ounces, records show.
College Station police said the judge listed his occupation was "administrator."
Records show he was released around 6 a.m. on Tuesday on a $3,000 bond.
Guadalupe County District Attorney Heather McMinn said she first learned about the judge's arrest Thursday afternoon from a KENS 5 reporter.
"It saddens me to hear this news," hse said. "Judge Wiggins has done a tremendous amount of positive things for our community. I have no other information at this time."
The judge told the Seguin Gazette on Thursday afternoon, "It is what it is."
