Bexar County authorities have been hot on the trail of a suspect who has been stealing ovens and other items from homes under construction.

They didn't have to look far, though. The homebuilder placed a tracking device in one oven, leading investigators straight to more than $2,000 in stolen appliances and the suspect, apparently caught red-handed.

Authorities say the homebuilder, Pulte Homes, put a tracking device inside one of the newly-installed ovens inside a home in a new subdivision near Loop 1604 and Schaenfeld Road.
Officers used the device to track the stolen items to a pickup truck several miles away. The truck is owned by 32-year-old Joshua Michaud, whom deputies arrested for theft.
Authorities say they found other appliances in the truck bed that have come from different subdivisions.
