Lots of adrenaline was pumping through the veins of medical students as they waited Thursday morning to learn their fate: Where they will be going for their residency.
But was it the prescription they were hoping for?
Even after four years of rigorous medical school at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, a ceremony called "Match Day" was the "cut" they all cared about.
While each student had a say on their top picks, that didn't guarantee they would get the residency of their dreams.
But with the screaming and jumping on stage as they announced their destiny, it was quite obvious that the news was just what the doctor ordered.
Not only did students pick their favorites, the National Resident Matching Program ranked them and helped pick the perfect match through a computer program.
