SAN ANTONIO -- A Chinese restaurant on the city's south side needs a new sign after an out-of-control driver barrelled off road early Wednesday morning.
The woman was driving west on SW Military Drive when she swerved across three lanes of traffic to avoid an oncoming vehicle, police said.
The Dodge Neon took out several cast iron lantern outside Chinese restaurant at 1234 SW Military Drive and came to a rest after smashing into the restaurant's sign around 3:13 a.m., police said.
The sign hit the passenger side of the Neon, where police said the driver's boyfriend was sitting. He was knocked unconscious but later recovered.
The boyfriend was rushed to Southwest General Hospital for observation.
Police said witnesses did not report seeing a wrong-way driver.
