Beware 'Blue Hippo', says BBB

Several viewers contacted us this week about “Blue Hippo” computer dealer, accusing them of mistreating customers.

Eyewitness Wants to Know pulled some information together to help you navigate the situation.
 
Our viewers aren’t the only ones complaining, the Better Business Bureau reports more than 4,000 people complained about “Blue Hippo” in the past 36 months.
 
The company has not responded to a single complaint filed since February and complaints show the company does not provide a contract, denies refunds and makes unauthorized withdrawals from bank accounts.
 
Here are some tips to better protect yourself when ordering by phone or online:  Do not give your social security number, birth date or your mother’s maiden name; do not wait for paper statements; check your bank account for suspicious activity and check the company’s refund policies before making a purchase.
