SAN ANTONIO -- Two people are dead and a man is in the hospital after police say their car was found riddled with bullets early Friday morning.

Police said a man and a woman, both in their 20s, were found fatally shot around 2 a.m. inside a car in a field at Fresno and I-10. Another passenger was taken to University Hospital with gunshot wounds.

Capt. Tracy Powers said they know little about the shooters but hope the lone survivor can provide more information.

"We're getting a statement from the survivor right now hoping it will develop a lead and some better suspects," he said.

Police said the victims were targeted while driving westbound on Fresno Drive.

The surviving victim told detectives they were coming from Stacy's Sports Bar, 3805 Blanco Road. Detectives said they are investigating a possible confrontation at the bar earlier in the night.

More than 30 shell casing from a semi-automatic weapon were recovered around the victims' vehicle.
