It's a taste of the good life for tubers who headed to Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels for a wild ride on the City Tube Chute and then a slow float down the Comal.  Lifeguards situated in key spots along the river made sure everyone was safe. City police also made sure everyone was well within the law. As they watched to make sure visitors donned park wristbands, they also kept an eye out for wily water pirates who sometimes intentionally capsize floats in hopes of 'rescuing' valuables from the clear depths. Some tubers were annoyed by the new river rules that include:

  • the use of disposable containers on or in the water is prohibited;
  • flotation devices longer than 5 feet on any one side are prohibited, round floats are limited to 5 feet in diameter;
  • Flotation devices are limited to two per person

Check the New Braunfels city website for other rules, regs and for maps and parking areas for both the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers.
